A Call to Collect Winter Hats, Scarves and Gloves for PADS Homeless Shelter
As part of the Martin Luther King Day of Service, Monday, January 20, 2020 our Youth Ministry and PADS Team from St Joseph Parish is requesting donations for winter hats, scarves and gloves for the clients at the PADS Homeless Shelter located at Saint Lawrence O’Toole Church.
After each mass on the weekends of January 11/12 and 18/19, members of the Youth Ministry and PADS team will be available to collect new or slightly used articles of wear.
Like last year, Allisa Boyd, Director, members of Youth Ministry and their families will deliver all the collected items to the Saint Lawrence O’Toole facility. Members of the PADS team will be there to meet them and share time explaining the team’s mission and role in the overall PADS Initiative.
Finally, when called upon to provide for those in need, you the members of the Saint Joseph’s community, time and time again, demonstrate your Christian spirit and concern for our fellow man.
As always, there is a multitude of ways to support our PADS team throughout the year of service:
1. Helping parish volunteers to prepare evening meals in advance;
2. Making a monetary donation for the cost of supplies for the three meals prepared and served;
3. Purchase gallons of milk, orange juice, tea and cases of water. We will arrange pick-up of these items.
If you would be interested in any of these options, please contact Jim Bova at 708.625.2188 or jamesbova@sbcglobal.net
